Murdered Pretoria woman who was dumped in river identified

The body of a white female who was found in the vicinity of Hennops Pride next to the R55 road in the Erasmia area on Sunday morning, 13 September 2015 was identified this morning.

This followed numerous attempts by the South African Police Service (SAPS) to trace her family through the assistance of the media. The SAPS’ Victim Identification Centre (VIC) then compiled a frontal and profile image of the deceased in an effort to provide the public with an estimation of the victim’s appearance to assist with the potential identity and the murder investigation.

A community member recognised the deceased on the images and alerted the family. The body was identified by the Pretoria family as the 26-year-old Elchenette Rademeyer. The family did not open a missing persons report as the deceased was not residing with them at the time of her death and they were not aware of the incident.

A murder case Erasmia CAS 109/09/2015 was opened after a witness alleged that she saw two white males and a white female dumping her body in the river on Saturday, 12 September 2015.

The police is appealing to the public to come forward with any information that can assist with the murder investigation. Any information can be provided to the investigating officer Constable Moima at 083 3177 150, SAPS Erasmia 012 370 1777 or to Crime Stop 08600 10111.
