The driver of a single vehicle that collided with a tree has sustained serious injuries this morning on Smith Street near Warwick Avenue around 08:30am.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and collided with a palm tree on the roadside. Paramedics found that the single driver was still entrapped in the wreckage and immediately dispatched Durban Fire Department. Paramedics climbed into the wreckage and stabilized the injured lady who had sustained serious injuries. Once she had been cut free from the wreckage she was carefully extricated from the vehicle. She was then transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that she required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control and hit the tree however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
