Paramedics attend to several firework related incidents in KZN

Last night KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to several fire work related incidents.

The first incident was in the Newlands West area, where we received an emergency call for a report of a man who had sustained burns and lacerations to his head, reportedly from a firework. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, however when they arrived on scene it was reported that the man, reportedly aged 33 years old was transported to hospital privately.

In a second incident in Ilovo area, south of Durban, a man aged about 29 years old, was injured on his ear, reportedly after being hit by a projectile from a firework. He was, however, in a stable condition and was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.

While in the Pietermaritzburg area in Lincon Meade a room with its contents was burnt in a fire, which reportedly started after the misuse of fireworks. There were no injuries sustained in this incident.
