Three people have sadly passed away in a collision involving a bus and minibus on the R617 between Kokstad and Underberg in the Harry Gwala district of KZN earlier this morning. This crash also left 16 people injured.
Paramedics from the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services responded to the tragic crash. All the victims were from the minibus, and no-ne in the bus was injured.
In addition to the three fatalities, a total of 16 other people were treated for injuries, which were mostly critical in nature.
The patients were stabilised at the scene before being transported to several nearby hospitals for continued medical care.
The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage and is being investigated by the authorities.
