Man drowns in public pool, Pietermaritzburg

A 28-year-old man drowned this morning at a public swimming pool in Northdale, Pietermartizburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the swimming pool to find SAPS search and rescue already in attendance. Paramedics assessed the patient and found that he had been dead for some time. Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead. It is understood that the man had been missing from the previous afternoon.

His body was found in the pool by security in the morning hours. Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
