Cash in transit vehicle robbed by 6 armed men after tyre puncture

Yesterday afternoon, two security officers were robbed at gun point by a group of six armed men. The incident happened on the N18 Road between Kraaipan mine and Setlagole villlage, North West.

The attack happened after the security’s cash in transit van got a tyre puncture and the two wanted to change the damaged tyre. The suspects robbed the two men of their firearms and cell phones before they took them to a nearby bush. The victims were tied up, poured with petrol then threatened to be set alight if they don’t co-operate. Four of the suspects then tried to open the safe containing money. When they failed, hey set the truck aloght . No money was taken. No arrest has been made and investigations are continuing.
