Last night at 20h24 Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision between two heavy goods vehicles on the N3 in Cato Ridge. Exact detail to the cause of the crash is still speculative however, on truck slammed into the rear of the other truck.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway obstructed with accident debris, oil and the twisted frames of the trucks as well as some of the cargo from the front truck. The driver from the rear truck sustained serious injuries while the passenger escaped with minor injuries.
Medics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg for the care that they required.
