Dinwiddie drowning leaves boy three in critical condition

This morning at 10h50 Netcare 911 paramedics raced to the scene of a drowning in Dinwiddie on the East Rand. Reports from the scene indicate that a three-year-old boy was found floating in a private swimming pool, exact detail as to the events leading up to him falling in will remain a subject for police investigation.

The Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics and his team arrived at the scene and found the child totally unresponsive. The medical team immediately started with advanced life support resuscitation and called for the Netcare 911 medical helicopter to assist with the child

Paramedics worked fervently for some time and you could see the relief and joy in every one when they managed to get the child’s hart to start beating again, and to top it all as the helicopter landed the child started with spontaneous respirations.

After the child was stabilised, he was loaded on board the helicopter and then under the constant care of an Emergency care Practitioner, they airlifted him to a specialised facility for further care.
