Man critically injured when impaled by drill in Krugersdorp

This morning at 10h37 Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a man that had fallen from a height in Tarleton, Krugersdorp. Reports from the scene indicate that the man was standing on a crate to drill a hole into a wall, the crate collapsed causing the man to fall  to the ground and land on the drill.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the drill bit had lodged into the chest of the sixty-six-year old man leaving him in a critical condition. Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the man at the scene before they airlifted him with the Netcare one medical helicopter to a specialised facility in Johannesburg for further care.
