One person has been left fighting for his life after a high speed collision on North Coast Road last night.
Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 10PM, to find two light motor vehicles had collided at high speed with one of the vehicles engulfed in flames.
Luckily with the assistance of bystanders, both drivers had managed to free themselves from the wreckages before the fire started.
One man sustained serious injury in the collision and advanced life support care was needed to stabilize him on scene, before he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
Reports from the scene suggest that the two vehicles collided at high speed, on a section of the road notorious for illegal drag racing, however the exact details will form subject to a police investigation.
