A man has died shortly after arriving at hospital late on Wednesday night after a single vehicle collision on the M7 between North Park and Bellville Road bridge.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene just after 11pm to find that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and rolled several times ejecting the driver in the process. The critically injured man lay on the busy roadway and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the man. The man was placed on a manual ventilator on the scene before being rushed to a Durban Hospital for further care. Unfortunately a short while after arriving at hospital the manned went into cardiac arrest and despite resuscitation efforts was declared deceased.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to roll however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
