Shortly after 10:30 pm on Saturday night, Marshall Security were called to assist a private security officer contracted to a sports club in Jaco Jackson Road, in Greyville for a report of an armed robbery.
On arrival of security officers, it was ascertained that an elderly couple had fallen victim to armed assailants whilst walking to their vehicle after an evening out.
The victim’s reported that they were approached by two men, armed with 9mm hand guns, who demanded their valuables, robbing the couple of cell phones, a wallet containing an unknown amount of cash, as well as a hand bag, before fleeing off in an unknown direction.
An extensive search of the area and its surroundings was done, however was unsuccessful and the suspects remain at large.
The scene was later handed over to the Durban Central SAPS for further investigation and processing.
