At 19h51 on Sunday evening Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian crash on the R102 in Newlands West. Exact detail to the cause of the crash remains a subject for police investigation and comment.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries. Medics placed the man on a ventilator and after immobilising him on a trauma board they transported him to a nearby hospital for the care that he required.
