Five people were injured, one of them critically, when a vehicle overturned on the N3 between Cedara and Maryvale, south bound, in the Howick area, earlier today.
ER24 paramedics, Midlands EMS and other services attended to the incident. Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics found the vehicle on its roof in the left lane.
Upon assessment of the patients it was found that four sustained minor injuries and one sustained critical injuries.
The critically injured patient, found on the side of the highway, was treated and transported to Grey’s Hospital.
The patients who sustained minor injuries were treated and transported to Northdale Hospital.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
