A collision involving only one vehicle occurred on the M13 near Kloof in KwaZulu Natal earlier this afternoon. A light delivery vehicle allegedly lost control and overturned.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the driver was trapped under the vehicle. He had sustained severe trauma to one of his arms as well as head injuries. With the help of the local fire department, the man was extricated from underneath the vehicle. ER24 paramedics provided the man with advanced life support interventions and transported him to St Augustine Hospital in Durban for further treatment.
The road was closed for over an hour and traffic was heavily affected. ER24 would like to urge motorists to use alternative routes where possible. The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
