House burns in Hull Valley, Umkomaas.

Fortunately, no-one was injured after a house caught alight and burned in Hull Valley in Umkomaas in KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with Provincial Fire Services, arrived at the rural settlement and found members of the community had gathered around the house.

Members of the community had begun grabbing buckets of water in an effort to contain the blaze. Fortunately, quick work by these members had managed to extinguish the blaze.

ER24 paramedics assessed a woman, who had been inside the house at the time of the fire, and found that she had sustained only minor smoke inhalation. The woman later declined transportation to hospital.

Fire Services remained on scene to make sure that the fire had been completely extinguished.

It is believed that a woman had been baking in the house when there was an apparent electrical fault.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
