At about 02h40, Netcare911 paramedics responded to reports that an ATM had been bombed at Cornwall Hill shopping centre in Elardruspark in Pretoria.
When we arrived on scene, we found that a security officer had been shot and wounded.
The man was stabilised on scene by Netcare911 paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital under the constant care of an Advanced Life Support Paramedic.
The security officer is in a stable condition at a Pretoria hospital.
No one else was injured in this incident.
Reports from the scene indicate that the armed robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police are investigating the matter.
