A 52-year-old woman is in a critical condition after she fell from a horse in the KZN Midlands earlier this evening.
Paramedics that arrived on the scene found the woman with severe head injuries. An ER24 Advanced Life Support Paramedic assisted another private service on scene to stabilise her before she was rushed through to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further care.
It is understood from bystanders that the horse apparently got spooked and through the lady off. She fell to the ground and hit her head.
