On Monday afternoon at 12h55 Netcare 911 paramedics and their Rescue unit responded to a collision along Napier Road New Germany, Pinetown. Reports from the scene indicate that a truck and a bakkie collided exact detail to the cause however is still speculative.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man still trapped in the twisted frame of the bakkie with serious injuries. The Netcare 911 Rescue officer had to use the Jaws of Life to free the injured man from the twisted metal before medics were able to remove him from the vehicle.
After the patient was spinally immobilised, they transported him to a nearby hospital under the constant care of a Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic for the care that he required.
