One man was killed and another critically injured early this morning after a shooting incident outside a nightclub on FJ Sithole Road in Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after they received the call from a clinic based opposite the nightclub.
Upon arrival, paramedics found that clinic staff were busy treating both men.
ER24 assessed both men and found that one man had already succumbed to his multiple gunshot wounds. Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene.
The second man was found with numerous gunshot wounds, leaving him in a critical condition.
Treatment and numerous advanced life support interventions were initiated on the patients before he was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the incident is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
