Surfers set to carve up the race track in Speed Stars Episode 3

What an incredible start to the second season of Speed Stars! Of course David Levinsohn and Jason Goliath had us in hysterics, surprised us with their serious side and completely blew us away with how competitive they were!

Not witty comments, no quick one-liners, it was 100% commitment when they put those helmets on and came under starters orders. In a 2-lap race that literally went right down to the line, it was Jason Goliath who came out on top, but only just!

Don’t forget to enter every week for a chance to win our Grand Prize at the end of the season – a trip overseas with Michelin & the winner of Speed Stars as VIP guests at their 2017 Pilot Sport Experience.

Michelin is also donating R30 000-00 to charity this season, with our stars battling it out in a variety of charity challenges to win the R2500-00 up for grabs in each episode. Speed Stars is supporting two charities this season, Ark Animal Centre and The Sunflower Fund, and in our first challenge Ark Animal Centre were the beneficiaries when the team of Maps Maponyane, Leigh-Anne Williams, Bonnie Mbuli and Jonathan Boynton-Lee won the Tyre Changing Challenge and selected them in the random draw.

SURFERS SET TO CARVE UP THE RACE TRACK IN OUR NEXT EPISODE

The ocean is home for our next two stars but will they be as good carving up the racetrack as they are the waves?

Bianca Buitendag put the tiny town of Victoria Bay on the world map when she finished 4th on the 2015 World Championship Tour. Contested by the best woman surfers at 10 events around the world, all eyes are on the 22 year old Bianca to bring home another world title for South Africa since Wendy Botha took top honours in 1987 / 1988.

Chris Bertish is the ultimate waterman who thrives living his life at the extreme! He has won the most prestigious Big Wave Surfing event in the world, the Mavericks Big Wave Invitational and has set world records on his SUP (stand-up paddleboard). His incredible story has been documented in his film, Ocean Driven – The Chris Bertish Story and in his book, Stoked. As a highly sought after keynote speaker, for Chris nothing is impossible, which is why he is attempting the impossible at the end of the year – a solo crossing of the Atlantic on a SUP!

A more competitive pairing you won’t find – catch them as they go head to head on Speed Stars, broadcast on Ignition DSTV 189 at the following times:
