On Saturday afternoon at 14h00 Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision on the N2 in Amanzimtoti. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle veered off the waterlogged highway and plunged into the river several metres below.
Paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene and found that the driver had been rushed to hospital by private transport before our arrival. The twisted frame of the vehicle was found partly submerged in the river.
