A man who had apparently just celebrated his birthday yesterday was declared dead today following a collision on the N1 north and Olifantsfontein between Centurion and Midrand.
He was the passenger in the car that was involved in a collision with a truck.
The driver of the vehicle, whose birthday is apparently today, was in a critical condition.
It is understood that the pair were trapped in the vehicle following the collision.
Fire was on scene for extricate them.
Sadly there was nothing that could be done for the passenger. He was declared dead by ER24 paramedics. The driver was treated and transported by paramedics to hospital for further medical care. The men are believed to be 32 years of age.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
