Pedestrian killed on the R617 in Mpophomeni

[HEUWELOORD] -Fetus found in rubbish bin.

A man was left critically injured afternoon when he was knocked over by a bakkie on the R617 in Mpophomeni in KwaZulu-Natal.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie parked on the side of the road. The body of a man was found lying in the middle of one of the lanes.

Paramedics immediately assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries, leaving him in a critical condition.

Paramedics treated the patient and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the bakkie was assessed and found to have escaped injury.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
