One killed, 11 injured in two separate Carletonville collisions

One person was killed and five others sustained various injuries when two vehicles collided on the N12 near the R28 intersection in Westonaria.

At approximately 10pm last night, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the two vehicles with severe damage. It is understood that the two vehicles collided head on with each other.

Two people were found in one of the vehicles with moderate injuries. A third person with fatal injuries was also found in the vehicle. Two people from the second vehicle sustained moderate injuries.

The injured were treated on the scene and later transported to Carletonville Hospital for further care.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.

In another collision at approximately 5am this morning, paramedics treated six people that were involved in a collision on the R501 near Agnew Road in Carletonville. It is understood that one of the vehicles rear-ended the other.

Both vehicles were found in the middle island of the road. The injured were treated for moderate injuries and transported to Carletonville and The Fountains Hospitals respectively.
