Hijacking occurred in Rosary Road, Greenwood Park

On Wednesday evening at approximately 19:00, Marshall Security were alerted to a hijacking which had occurred in Rosary Road, Greenwood park. On further investigation, it was ascertained that the driver of an Isuzu double cab had stopped at a local tuck shop when he was approached by four armed men. The driver was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects fled with the hijacked motor vehicle towards Chris Hani Road. The vehicle taken had no satellite tracking device fitted. A case was opened with the South African Police Services.

Earlier in the evening, four armed men attempted to hijack a Hyundai i20 in Prince Umhlangane Road in Avoca. The four armed men followed the female driver into her driveway and ordered her out of the vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects failed to engage the reverse gear in the vehicle and abandoned their effort, fleeing in a getaway vehicle in an unknown direction.

No injuries were sustained in either incident.
