A woman believed to be in her late twenties was found in a critical condition on the N3 near Liberty Mall in Pietermaritzburg this evening.
Shortly after 5pm paramedics from ER24 and a local emergency service arrived on the scene where they found the woman lying in the middle of the highway. A vehicle was parked in the middle of the highway warning approaching vehicles of the incident. The driver of the vehicle explained to paramedics that she witnessed the woman fall from to passenger side of a large truck onto the road’s surface.
Paramedics found the woman with severe head injuries. She was placed on life support on the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.
