Taxi crashes and overturns injuring nine in Dunoon in the Western Cape.

Nine people were injured this afternoon when a taxi crashed into a roadside barrier and rolled multiple times on the N7 near the Malibongwe turn-off in Dunoon in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, along with the Metro and Fire services, arrived on the scene to find the taxi on its side on the grass embankment.

It was discovered that the occupants from the taxi had already been pulled from the vehicle by motorists who had witnessed the incident.

Paramedics assessed the patients on the scene and found that 8 had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate while one other had sustained serious injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients on scene and thereafter transported them to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.

It is believed that a vehicle had apparently swerved in front of the taxi, causing the driver to lose control of his vehicle.

Authorities on scene will be investigating this incident further.
