At 18h01 Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a drowning incident at the Battery beach in Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that the man went for a swim when he got into difficulty and disappeared under the water. Life guards swam out and found the man submerged in the water. He was pulled out and they started CPR immediately.
Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene and continued for about an hour with the resuscitation. Tragically, the twenty-nine-year-old man was declared dead at the scene despite the efforts from the team.
