Two injured in botched armed robbery near Redcliffe

Two Indian males were shot during what is believed to be a botched armed robbery near Redcliffe in Verulam a short while ago.

At approximately 09:29 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to a scrap metal business on Oakford Road after receiving a call from a resident in the area reporting multiple shots being fired. Upon arrival the Provincial Ambulance Service was on scene and attending to an 18 year old who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his back. The second victim was shot twice, once through his left thigh and through his scrotum. The injured were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.

It is alleged that both individuals were approached by an unknown African male who drew a firearm and without provocation fired a volley of shots at the two before fleeing the scene empty handed.
