A wood and iron home was completely destroyed in a fire on Oakford Road near Redcliffe – Verulam a short while ago.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving several calls from the public reporting the fire. Upon arrival the house was found completely engulfed in flames. The Fire Department extinguished the blaze however the house and it’s contents were completely destroyed.
It was established that the owner of the property was in the home when the fire started. The 52 year old man claimed that part of the house was rented to three other individuals. A lit candle in one of the bedrooms fell onto a bed resulting in the fire.
No one was injured in the fire.
