On Friday evening 21 July 2017, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting incident on Keurberg Road in the Bishop Lavis area.
Paramedics from Netcare 911 and Metro EMS attended to 5 male patients at the scene who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Four of them had sustained moderate to serious injuries, they were stabilised at the scene before being transported by ambulances to hospital for further assessment and care.
The fifth victim, sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The SAPS were on scene, the incident and preceding events will form part of their investigation.
