A man has been killed following a head on collision involving two vehicles on the R102 near the Buffelsdale entrance in Tongaat a short while ago (Friday).
At approximately 18:30 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the collision from a passing motorist. Upon arrival the driver of a VW Citi
Golf was found to have sustained life threatening injuries and died on scene.
The 44 year old old driver of a Toyota Tazz was entrapped in his vehicle. Paramedics managed to free him from the wreckage and treated the injured man for moderate injuries before transporting him to Osindisweni Hospital in a stable condition.
It is alleged that the VW Golf was travelling in the direction of Verulam when it collided head on into the Toyota Tazz which was travelling in the opposite direction.
Circumstances surrounding the collision has not been established at this stage.
