Three new members of the AMG GT family

  • Exclusive equipment package: AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50

Three new members of the AMG GT family – the AMG GT[*] Roadster and AMG GT C* Roadster as well as the extremely sporty AMG GT R** are being launched as AMG celebrates 50 Years of Driving Performance.

AMG is extending its in-house developed family of sports cars outwards and upwards with the addition of three new members. Boasting motor racing technology for the road and cutting-edge features, the AMG GT R is an elite athlete that delivers a breathtaking driving experience. The front-mid-engine concept with transaxle, the V8 Biturbo engine rated at 430 kW and 700 Nm of torque, the extensively modified suspension, the new aerodynamics and the intelligent lightweight construction lay the foundations for the exceptional driving dynamics.

The new Roadsters make hallmark AMG driving performance an even more intensive experience. In the entry-level model, the AMG GT Roadster, the AMG 4.0‑litre V8 bi-turbo unit produces an output of 350 kW and 630 Nm of torque. Boasting an even more striking and dynamic appearance, the AMG GT C Roadster with its output of 410 kW and peak torque of 680 Nm is a brand new model variant that slots in between the AMG GT S and AMG GT R.

The prices for the three new sports cars at a glance (incl. VAT):

  • Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster:           R2,599,900
  • Mercedes-AMG GT R:              R2,689,900

The AMG GT C Roadster especially employs some of the sophisticated technical features of the AMG GT R, including the active rear axle steering and the electronically controlled rear axle limited-slip differential. And from the Panamericana Grille through to the broader tail end, the AMG GT R genes are instantly plain to see, too. The GT C Roadster furthermore comes complete with a highly exclusive specification, with standard equipment including a Nappa leather interior and the AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre. For the first time, the AMG performance seats are also optionally available with AIRSCARF neck-level heating and seat ventilation – for undiluted open-air driving pleasure the whole year round. The soft top opens and closes in approx. eleven seconds on both AMG GT Roadster variants, even when on the move at speeds up to 50 km/h.

Exclusive equipment package: AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50

To mark the landmark year of the company, which was founded in 1967, and now celebrating its 50th anniversary, the new AMG GT C Roadster launches as an exclusive special Edition, 50 model.

The Edition 50 is available in two exclusive special paint finishes: design graphite grey magno and designo cashmere white magno. To give the exterior a distinctive look, black chrome highlights are applied to the side skirt trim, the front splitter, the trim strips in the air inlets of the Panamericana grille, the fins on the side air outlets in the front wings, the moulding on the rear diffuser and the exhaust tailpipe trims. The surface of the cross-spoke AMG forged wheels has been harmonised with the black chrome elements of the exterior.

The interior is marked by a contrast between black and silver. This colour scheme is followed not only by the trim in STYLE exclusive Nappa leather in silver pearl/black with grey diamond-patterned contrasting top stitching but also by the black AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre with grey contrasting top stitching, “Edition” lettering on the steering wheel bezel and 12 o’clock mark in silver pearl.

To emphasise the sporty character, Edition 50 comes as standard with the AMG Interior Night package, which includes such features as steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels in black.

The interplay between light and dark is further accentuated by silver seat belts and black chrome trim. The head restraints of the AMG Performance seat is embossed with “GT Edition 50”.
