Nineteen people were left injured this afternoon when a taxi rolled in Ferndale

Nineteen people were left injured this afternoon when a taxi rolled, colliding with a light motor vehicle, at the Bond and Main Road intersection in Ferndale, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 12h00 to find both vehicles in the middle of the intersection. The occupants had already climbed out of the vehicle and were either walking around on the scene or seated on the pavement.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that nineteen, including a 1-year-old girl, had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The patients were treated for their injuries, and two provided with pain-relief medications. Once treated, the patients were transported to various facilities in the area for further treatment.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
