A Mozambican National was apprehended by members of Reaction Unit South Africa after he and an accomplice attempted to break into a home on Himalaya Drive in Everest Heights a short while ago.
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the residence after receiving a call from female reporting two suspects attempting to break into her neighbours property. Upon arrival Officers were informed that the suspects had fled prior to their arrival. The witness provided a clothing description of two men. RUSA Officers conducted a search of the area and spotted one of the suspects fleeing through a bush leading to Missionlands.
Addition response vehicles were dispatched to block off the suspect who was apprehended hiding in the bush. The suspect only spoke in his ethnic tongue and could not understand English or IsiZulu. He was led back to the home where he was positively identified by the caller as one of the people that was at her neighbours property.
The search for the second suspect was conducted. No further arrests were made.
