Thirteen people were injured during a taxi rollover in Tzaneen

Thirteen people were left injured this afternoon when a taxi rolled on the R36, approximately 20km outside of Tzaneen in Limpopo.

ER24 paramedics, along with Provincial Services, arrived on the scene at approximately 14h00, finding the taxi lying on its left side in the emergency lane. The occupants had already climbed out of the vehicle and were now found seated along the barrier.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two had sustained serious injuries while eleven others had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The patients were treated for their injuries and the seriously injured with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to Mediclinic Tzaneen and Van Velden Provincial Hospital for further care.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
