A man believed to be in his fifties has been killed after his vehicle left the M1 Higginson Highway near Bayview offramp on Monday evening.
Just after 8 pm, Rescue Care Paramedics were called to the serious accident on the M1. On arrival, they found that the single vehicle had somehow lost control and rolled down the embankment ejecting the driver. The male was found unresponsive next to his vehicle. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man on the scene, however, were unsuccessful after 30 minutes. The man was then declared deceased on the scene.
At this stage, the exact cause of the single vehicle to lose control and roll down the bank is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
