At approximately 21:36 last night (Friday) members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to Spring Road in Tea Estate – Inanda after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival it was established that two suspects has approached two pedestrians and started firing randomly at them. One of the victims was shot multiple times while the second victim was shot once in the leg. The suspects then fled the scene. The victims were transported privately to hospital for medical attention.
While on scene Reaction Officers were alerted to a second shooting at an informal settlement a few kilometres away from where the initial shooting took place. Upon arrival at the informal settlement it was established that the suspects had knocked on the window of a shack before firing several shots at the dwelling. No one was injured during the second shooting. Several spent 9mm cartridges were found on scene.
The motive for both shootings have not been established at this stage.
