A twenty five year old man has been left fighting for his life after he was struck by a minibus taxi on Chris Hani (North Coast) Road this morning.
Crisis Medical Paramedics arrived on the scene near to the Malacca Road intersection to find the man lying in the roadway, having sustained life threatening head injuries.
Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize the man before he was placed onto a manual ventilator to assist him in breathing.
Once stabilized the man was taken to Addington Hospital for the immediate specialist care he required.
He remains in a critical but stable condition.
Reports from the scene suggest the man was attempting to cross the busy roadway when he was struck by the minibus.
Local authorities will investigate the incident further.
