An incident which happened yesterday in Giyani at about 20h00. A motorist driving an opel corsa ldv was stopped and screened and the reading was 0.89mg, Realising that he was arrested for drunken driving; he resisted and assaulted one Prov. Insp. Manganyi T.C, a female pprovincialtraffic police officer who was also taken to hospital for medical attention as she had bruises on her face.
The male driver a male was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of liquor as well as common assault – cas numbers 223 and 333/12/2017 at Hoedspruit Giyani Saps. Detained for further investigation.
