Two people were injured after a wooden bulkhead collapsed in the butchery section of Waterloo Spar on Umdloti Beach Road in Verulam a short while ago.
At approximately 12:07 members of Reaction Unit South Africa was called out to the scene by shoppers reporting the incident. Upon arrival the store was evacuated by SAPS Officials.
It was established that an employee and a shopper were injured after the wooden bulkhead fell on them. The employee was rushed to hospital privately while the shopper sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.
The store has been temporarily closed while management evaluates the damages.
