At approximately 08H15 Netcare 911 responded to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the R102 Eastbound just before the Phoenix offramp.
Reports from the scene indicate that five light motor vehicles were involved in the collision that left multiple people injured.
The exact number injured has not been determined as some patients had been removed prior to the arrival of Netcare 911 Paramedics.
Traffic has been severely affected heading Eastbound.
The Metro Police, Road Traffic Inspectorate as well as the SAPS were on scene.
