On the evening of Thursday 19 April at 20:30 Detectives from Provincial Organised Crime Investigations arrested a 23-year-old Constable at Kleinvlei police station for murder. This follows an investigation into the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old youth in Mfuleni in the early morning hours on 10 September 2017. The Constable is being detained at Bellville South police station and will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Monday 23 April 2018.
Police members are warned that they will face the full might of the law when they are found guilty of engaging in criminal behaviour. In addition, they will also be subject to an internal disciplinary process.
