Enforcement successes with increased police visibility in the Nyanga Cluster.

Western Cape: High police visibility during a joint operation that was conducted by members from the Nyanga Cluster last night 29 April 2018 until the early hours of this morning, 30 April 2018, led to the arrest of a 27-year-old for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at a tavern in Lower Crossroads.

A .38 pistol with five live rounds of ammunition was found. Four sheebens were closed, while 50 vehicles and 200 people were searched. Members also recovered a stolen vehicle at Siyahlala in Nyanga. A 33-year-old man was arrested in Philippi East for Presumed stolen property and a television was confiscated.

Both arrested suspects will make a court appearance in Athlone, once charged.
