A man in his thirties has sustained moderate injuries after an industrial accident in Henwood Road in Pinetown on Wednesday afternoon.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the Durban Fire Department in attendance. A male in his thirties had been working on a gantry when he sustained serious injuries. He was stabilised on the scene and the Durban SAPS Search and Rescue were called to assist in safely bringing the patient down to the ground. An intricate rope rescue system was set up and the patient was lowered under the careful watch of Advanced Life Support Paramedic. The entire rescue took approximately two hours.
The injured man was then taken to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.
At this stage the events leading up to the injury is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
