Suspected Drunk Driver Blamed For Collision in Verulam, KZN

Four people suffered minor to moderate injuries following a motor vehicle collision on the R102 at the Verulam intersection last night.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by the public who witnessed the collision. Upon arrival it was established that the driver of a Toyota Corolla was travelling at high speed towards the intersection and failed to bring his vehicle to a stop.

His vehicle collided into the back of a Toyota Conquest which knocked into a VW Polo in front of it. The driver of the VW Polo, two female occupants of the Toyota Corolla and the driver of the Toyota Conquest sustained mild to moderate injuries and had to receive medical attention.

The driver of the Toyota Conquest was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.
