Break-In Suspect Arrested in Verulam, KZN

A teenager was apprehended by Reaction Officers after he and two accomplices broke into a storage facility on Todd Street in the Verulam CBD.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the premises which is situated on the first floor of the building and upon arrival met with the owner. He informed Officers that three suspects had broke a glass door and entered the storeroom. They stole a metal shelf before fleeing on foot.

Reaction Officers patrolled the area and found one of the suspects selling the stolen item to a scrap metal dealer on Wick Street. Officers approached an apprehended the 18-year-old.

The suspect confirmed that he and his accomplices were heroin addicts. The money they generated from the sale of the stolen item was to be used to purchase drugs.
