KwaZulu-Natal: At 19H00 Saturday evening Netcare 911 responded to reports of an injured fisherman on a fishing boat on the beach near The Durban Harbour entrance.
Reports from the scene indicate that when the vessel had beached one of the occupants a 50-year-old male was thrown around on the deck.
The patient was assessed on scene and found to be in a stable condition with suspected spinal injuries but in severe pain.
The patient was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedic and given medication to relieve his pain.
He was then carefully stabilized and transported by a Netcare 911 ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate.
