Man nabbed in possession of copper cables worth over R35 000 in Jeffreys Bay

Station commander of Jeffreys Bay with the assistance of a private security guard nabbed a 23-year-old in possession of copper cables valued over R35 000 on the roadside in Jeffreys Bay today.

On Tuesday, 16 October 2018 around 7am, the station commander of Jeffreys Bay SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Makhoasa Kiviet, who was driving on her way to work spotted a private security company vehicle stopping next to a man in Coraal Street, Jeffreys Bay, and she also stopped her vehicle. The man was carrying copper cables, and upon questioning him, he could not give satisfactory account about the goods in his possession. The 23-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear at the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
